Short learning curve – familiar Mastercam environment
HSM Performance Pack is seamlessly integreated with Mastercam, which makes it easy to use because of the already familiar environment.
High speed machining strategies including Constant Cut
Constant Cut allows you to rough parts at high speed at constant engagement. It ensures even tool wear, resulting in longer tool life.
Smooth high-speed toolpaths
Toolpaths are smooth, consistent and optimized for high feedrates and better part surface quality. Minimization and optimization of retract moves.
Rest material machining
Rest machining can be performed based on the previous tool. You can specify the previous tool radius to machine solely in regions which the previous tool could not reach. With the Flat Areas feature, rest machining cleans up all flat surfaces.
Shallow machining option
With the shallow machining option, you get a smooth finish with the least amount of toolpath.
The trimming option allows you to machine shallow areas locally thereby saving time on the steep areas.
Machining of flat surfaces
Constant Cut, Contour and Pocket now support flat area detection. This means that you can machine all flat surfaces without running a separate strategy such as horizontal.
Support for check surfaces
The check surface feature can be used to avoid machining of selected surfaces.
Support for tight tolerances
Support for very tight tolerances to avoid facets on machined parts with very small curvatures. Tolerances below 1um are supported.
Support for 5-axis tilt
Most strategies support 5-axis tilt for avoiding holder collisions.
User defined retraction policy
The retraction policies, Shortest path and Minimum retraction, determine how moves between cutting passes are done. Shortest path is the shortest possible gouge free path moving in all three axes while Minimum retraction is straight up to the lowest height where the tool is clear of the part by a safe distance.
Support for multi-CPU and multi-core systems
Support for multi-CPU and multi-core systems when calculating a single operation, which reduces the calculation time significantly.
Undercut support
Most strategies, including Roughing strategies, support Undercut machining.
Support for small tools
Support for small tools (1mm and below) for precise machining of tiny parts such as dental and hearings parts.
Advanced Hybrid strategy
Combine the advantages of Contour, Parallel, Scallop and Pencil in a single operation.
